In case you missed it, the #1 ranked US Women's soccer team just rocked the world with their amazing win over top ranked Brazil in the World Cup. The game was seriously movie worthy (think: Miracle On Ice). The final championship game is Sunday against Japan at 11am PT/2pm ET. I want you to watch it. C'mon, the tournament is once every four years.

Why should you care?
- It's actually fun to watch. I admit, I was skeptical that I would enjoy watching women's sports. After years of hearing (from men, no less) that women aren't as good and therefore not as entertaining to watch in any sport (WNBA, Soccer, Softball), I was jaded. But I have had several leap-out-of-my-seat moments watching the Women's World Cup series. You will too.
- Japan will be a tough competitor. The Japanese team has not beat the US in 25 matches, but they have nothing to lose and are truly playing for their country, who has seen so much horrible adversity in the last few months with the earthquake and tsunami. Plus, their new-found confidence in making it to the championship will make for an exciting match-up against the US.
- The US women kick MEGA ass. The US team is fast, fierce and ferocious. Did you know all World Cup players have to run the entire 90 minute game without regular substitutes? Plus, the US team is known to be the most fit with incredible endurance and determination, including their very American "never-say-die" attitude.
- Support women in sports. Lest we forget, it was less than 40 years ago women's athletics were not funded in US schools (Thank you Title IX for changing that). We need to celebrate being off the sidelines and on the field and appreciate what we have today!
- Be a good example by being a fan. Show your sons and daughters (husbands & wives) women's sports are worth watching and groom them to have respect for female athletes!
